Kylie Corwin (b. 1996, she/her), from Long Island, is an artist-poet based between Edinburgh, Scotland and New York, USA. Her research-based intermedial art practice shifts between photography, poetry, drawing, graphic design, film, and printmaking, centering on environmental awareness of the body with recurring motifs of animals and plants; it is a narrative act of environmental stewardship.
Corwin is a third generation florist. Her mother grew up in Wick’s Florist, in Baldwin, New York, where her Oma began in the greenhouse in 1980. This laborious and green environment, and the role of a florist as not only designer and caretaker to plants and people has greatly influenced the way Corwin approaches her art practice. Since the age of 17 she has been working with flowers and they continue to support her. She now works as a florist at Rogue Flowers in the West End of Edinburgh. In March, she hosted her first open mic at Rogue Flowers to celebrate her 30th birthday.
Adjacently, Corwin works freelance specializing in portrait and documentary photography, and design consultation for artists and creative institutions. Currently, she is creating visuals for Art From The Outside, a podcast hosted by Amitha Raman and Will Palley, for their social media. Each episode is an interview with an artist, recently including Hew Locke, Martine Gutierrez, Camille Henrot, and William Kentridge. Her work has been published in Bloomberg Businessweek, Outside Magazine, and Living Bird Magazine.
She received her BFA in Fine Arts from Cornell University, where she studied under photographers Jean Locey, Christine Elfman, and Justine Kurland, and her MSc in Intermediality: Literature, Film and the Arts in Dialogue from the University of Edinburgh.
In 2025, her poetic photo-film, Between the Moon and the Willow Tree, 2024, was exhibited as part of the 2025 Landscape Awards in Kirkcudbright Galleries, Kirkcudbright, Scotland.
Corwin is a member of Mastic Beach Conservancy, RSPB, and the Luupe.
An extended version of her portfolio is available upon request and she is open to project inquiries.
